huge congrats to the winners of the 10th asiaspa awards!

The AsiaSpa Awards 2014 was another classic AsiaSpa event – high-octane, super-glam and networking-tastic, with one mad Japanese theme, two floors of champagne-fuelled fun, endless sake shots and the best goodie bags everrr. Thank you AsiaSpa!

Now for the serious stuff:

Maia Spa at Fusion Maia Da Nang in Vietnam took centre stage with Spa of the Year (Southeast Asia and The Pacific), showing that all-inclusive is an idea whose time has come. Spa of the Year for North and West Asia went to the serene and earthy Aman Spa at the charming village of Amanfayun in Hangzhou. Destination Hotel of the Year went to Velaa Private Island, Maldives.

Urban spas stepped up with an Urban Spa of the Year win for super-luxurious The Peninsula Spa at The Peninsula Hong Kong, tea-themed The Ritz-Carlton Spa Chengdu with New Spa of the Year and the super-sexy Elemis Spa at The St Regis Bangkok winning Men’s Spa of the Year. Urban Hotel of the Year went to the beautiful Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island. And in Shanghai, Willow Stream Spa, Fairmont Peace Hotel won Spa Design of the Year.

Eco spas had their evening in the sun with Six Senses Spa at Soneva Kiri in Thailand winning Eco Spa of the Year, Kamalaya Koh Samui winning Destination Retreat of the Year and Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa in Bali celebrating with Spa Cuisine of the Year.

Product line winners were ESPA for Spa Product Line of the Year, Kerstin Florian – Correcting Skincare for Anti-Ageing, Subtle Energies for Natural and VitaMan again coming tops for Men’s.

It was a good year for Thailand, who won six out of the 22 awards, adding Day Spa of the Year with Panpuri Organic Spa in Bangkok, Medi-Spa of the Year with Dii Wellness Med Spa, Bangkok and In-Spa Training of the Year with Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Phuket.

Indonesia won two treatment awards with Oriental Medicine Programme at COMO Shambhala Estate winning Holistic Treatment of the Year and Naked Skin Package at Cocoon Medical Spa winning Medi-Spa Treatment of the Year, both on the island of Bali. In addition, Spa Treatment of the Year went to Night Spa at The Island Spa, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and Bukit Gantang Warrior Treatment at Spa Village at Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia won Men’s Spa Treatment of the Year.

Huge congrats to all the winners, all those nominated, and all the rest of Asia’s spas that are pushing innovation, quality and true healing. Here’s to another year to make your presence felt before the AsiaSpa Awards 2015 roll around.
